Amazing STEM Classrooms that Inspire

Posted by Meredith Lower Elementary, Classroom, Makerspace, Middle School, STEAM, STEM, Upper Elementary No Comments

Amazing STEM Classrooms from Awesome STEM Educators

One of the BEST things I ever did was start a Facebook group just for STEM educators. It is by far the best Facebook group I have ever been a part of. Why?

  • It is SO supportive.
  • It is FULL of educators who are kind, smart, AND helpful.
  • It lacks drama. (A note on this last one. This group is heavily moderated, meaning that everyone joining is screened, EVERY post needs to get approved, and if anyone starts to spam or troll the group, they are removed. It’s basically a full time job but it’s so worth it. Luckily I have the best admins ever to help manage the group.

What do we talk about in this group? Deciding on which 3D printer or robot to purchase, how to find a STEM activity to meet a specific standard or topic, choosing the best cardboard cutter, how much time to leave for projects, which student gets to take home completed prototypes, etc. and so on! (If you aren’t in the group already, get on that).

A Hot Topic – STEM Classroom Set Up

We are talking seating, inspirational posters, lighting, functionality, and STORAGE! I have gathered some photos from educators in my Facebook group. They have graciously allowed me to share their photos. I sincerely hope that it inspires YOU to make your STEM classroom exactly what you need it to be.

In some cases I had multiple photos available to me, so you will see them below the long photos to catch these STEM classrooms from different angles, or get close-ups on things like storage.

See something you really like but want to know more about? Join the group and reach out to the teacher listed on the photo!

If you would like to have your room included, please email me with a photo (meredith at momgineer dot com). If you already said I could use your photo but I somehow missed it, please email me about that too! There were hundreds of photos to choose from and I’m sure I missed a few.

Spruce up your STEM Classroom with Decor

As you can see from all the AMAZING photos above, there are plenty of decor options out there, from Amazon, Oriental Trading Company, and teacher supply stores. I have also created a few poster sets I know you will love. First, you need engineering design process posters. You can download any of these sets for free:

You can also find other decor sets, such as these A to Z STEM Posters, which you can use to create an ABCs of STEM display, or a crossword-style grid:

You can find all of my STEM posters here – many of which are free to download (includes Engineering Disciplines, Engineering Design Process, Newton’s Laws, Robot Rules, Scientific Method, etc.)

Join the Support Group(s)

Don’t forget to join the Facebook group for STEM educators! If you are a secondary STEM educator, I have set up a special group just for you too.

Special Thanks

Without the generosity of these educators, this post would not have been possible! A warm thank you to
