A STEM Building Toy for Imaginative Children

A Building Toy for Kids of All Ages – Brackitz!

We all have our favorite building toys. Legos, Magformers, and Keva planks will forever be some of mine. While many have come and gone, such as TRIO blocks (remember them?), I am always on the lookout for new and exceptional building toys. I was lucky enough to receive a set of Brackitz to review, but I would recommend them regardless! Right out of the box, I knew this was a high quality toy. The blocks are smooth and satisfying to touch – seriously, they are a tactile treasure trove. Anyone with sensory-sensitive kids will know exactly what I mean! After trying out so many building toys that snap together but pinch fingers or aren’t comfortable to hold, this is something I pay attention to.

My kids and I had so much fun building with these! The connector pieces fit comfortably with the planks and offer a variety of configuration options. While there are ideas to build from, we all jumped right in to free building with the planks. You can see some of what we built below:

Not only can the planks connect at the ends (like with Keva planks), you can also use one of the special connectors to connect the pieces perpendicularly at any of the holes on a plank.

STEM with Open-Ended Building

While I love having directed challenges, open-ended building and tinkering is SO important for kids as they learn about how things fit and work together, what makes a structure stable or weak, and how things can be connected. Create a structure, something wearable, or whatever your imagination desires. The planks and connectors are durable. To make them really stand out, build with them in a bright room or near a window. They are translucent and look amazing with the sunlight pouring through them.

Get a Set of Brackitz

While the smaller sets give you an idea of what you can do with Brackitz, you will want a large set of these. I guarantee your kids will find a way to use EVERY.LAST.PIECE. and then ask for more! For a classroom, I would recommend purchasing multiple sets of the 170-piece inventor set, or one of the educational sets (affiliate links, read full disclosure here). Read on to find a discount code for Brackitz.

You can use this code to receive 15% off your purchase: MOMGINEER15 by shopping at Brackitz
